I know that you’re already itching to get your hands on CBD Oil but please, hold your horses. Acting rashly will not do you any good. Although the use of CBD-based products is almost at the point of being accepted throughout the lovely country of Canada, there is no official decree yet. Let’s just say that the new law approving the use of CBD is well on its way and we can expect it in the fall of 2018.
Hey, that’s just a few months away so let’s not be hasty now, capeesh?
Now that all of that’s out (I wanted to get the most important detail out first, just in case you turn tail right before finishing the article), let us now proceed to discussing a more pressing question: Why is Canada getting CBD approved anyway? Well young misters and missus, allow me to guide you through the whole concept of CBD Oils – or CBD-based products, in general – one paragraph at a time.
What Is CBD?
CBD is a shortened term for Cannabidiol. Now, I know that most of you are pretty high-strung whenever you hear any word starting with “canna,” typically because most of these words are associated with Cannabis – the scientific name of the marijuana plant. I’m happy to say that your hunch is right (yet again) on this particular instance. CBD is indeed a chemical compound or a “cannabinoid” found in weed. Does it make you high?
Does it make you crazy?
Why on earth is Canada legalizing such products?
… are probably some questions running frantically inside your head right now. Again, please, hold your horses and let me finish the whole story. I’m not done yet.
Yes, CBD is from marijuana but it doesn’t do any of the stuff your thinking. Ultimately, there’s a pretty dim chance that it’ll get someone “high,” let alone “crazy.” It’s a completely harmless cannabinoid that has long been studied because of its medicinal properties. After years of research, CBD is now considered as a game-changer in the medical field. It has been found that CBD can be used on both humans and animals to alleviate – or even cure – health problems such as chronic pain, and in animals, even cancer.
How Is CBD Not Psychoactive?
Thing is, marijuana is a medicinal plant by nature. Getting people high isn’t the only remarkable thing about it. THC, or Tetrahydrocannabinol, is the psychoactive compound present in Cannabis. This is the cannabinoid responsible for the high in the clouds behaviour people exhibit when they are under the influence of the plant. However, the moment you remove THC, what’s left is a medicinal plant that may very well work miracles on ailed people. This is made possible through the technology we have nowadays.
If you do your research, you’ll find out that marijuana has long been used for medicinal purposes. In fact, it was only used for medical purposes up until crazy, abusive people came and taught other people how to use the plant excessively. So really, cannabis is not guilty of the stigma surrounding marijuana now. It’s the doing of abusive people which probably comes to no one’s surprise. After all, humans did ruin a lot of good and natural things already but enough about that.
To be extra safe, the CBD used in (soon-to-be) commercialized products are derived from hemp – a less potent kind of cannabis that has the lowest THC levels. This is to make sure that even if in the slightest chance THC does get into any of the CBD products, it won’t be strong enough to cause a significant psychoactive effect.
So, that’s about it. I told you right from the start not to judge so fast. Canada is working on instating policies regarding the use of medical marijuana or CBD products because of the promising contributions it can provide to the medical industry. It is definitely not for the purpose of making marijuana smoking more rampant. Also, note that CBD products such as CBD oils and creams are to be legalized – not the use of weed. Lastly, don’t forget that it’s still prohibited at the moment.
If you are preparing to purchase them as soon as they come out however, why not start reading reviews, like this one https://cbdoilreviews.ca first. This should help you become super prepared for when they go on sale.
